The aim of the Professional Development Unit (PDU) is to support education
and professional development of nursing. It is directed by the strategic
work of the Executive Director of Nursing considering future nursing workforce
development, aligning with the organisations' healthcare service goals &
targets.
The Professional Development Unit (PDU) works closely with our
strategic partners to deliver a series of professional development
opportunities that meet both personal and organisational needs.
The
Professional Development Unit team is committed to providing approaches
at an individual, unit and organisational level to:
- develop the capacity, capability and readiness of the nursing
and midwifery workforce
- enable nurses and midwives to progress their professional
development
- assist nurse/midwifery educators, charge nurse/midwife managers
and nurse/midwifery managers provide a sense of direction and
improved patient outcomes in their units.
