Wendy Jar: Clinical Nurse Specialist - BMTU    
                                                                                                                                      

 Responsibilities include:  

• Application of 'Evidence Based Practice' principles into the clinical setting
• Development of policies and procedures related to the clinical specialty
• Guidance and support for staff in their patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Promotion of nursing excellence                                                
• Orientation, education and mentoring of new staff

Alison Trengrove: Bone Marrow Transplant Co-ordinator 

Responsibilities include:        
                                   

• Planning and organising bone marrow
  transplants and ensuring patients receive the
  appropriate care through all phases of the
  transplant process

• Facilitating the provisions of quality care for
  patients undergoing bone marrow transplants

• Liaise with bone marrow donors and organise
  tissue typing

• Acting as an education resource for patients,                
  their families, staff and community groups

Joanne Sanders: Clinical Trials Co-ordinator 

Responsibilities include:                                                                         

• Co-ordinating the initial process of setting 
  up clinical trials and ensure guidelines are
  adhered to

• Providing expert education and clinical care
  to patients participating in clinical research
  trials Co-ordination of the UK MRC Trials

Sharron Ellis: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Day Ward/Blood Transfusion Clinic

Responsibilities include:                                               

• Managing the day to day running of the Haematology Day Ward

• Responsible for maintaining policies and procedures

• Facilitate nurse education

• Resource person for Haematology and other departments within the hospital

 

  Blood Transfusion Clinic

• Management of haematology transfusion dependant patients who are medically stable

• Co-ordinate and initiate varying support systems to facilitate patient quality of life at home

• Increase overall patient focused care

• Close communication with medical staff

• Maintain legal requirements of health assessments
