The Christchurch Haematology Service is a tertiary centre for
the South Island of New Zealand. Services include Bone Marrow transplantation
(both autologous and allogeneic), treatment for Haematological
malignancies,
bleeding and thrombotic disorders.
Supporting specialist laboratory services include surface markers,
bone marrow processing, cytogenetic, molecular and specialist haemostasis.

The Christchurch Haematology Clinical Trials Programme functions within the Christchurch Haematology Service at the Canterbury District Health Board and consists of
6 Haematologists.
Three senior research coordinators lead the trial programme with all haematologists taking responsibility for clinical research within their area of expertise.
The primary objective of the Haematology clinical trials programme is to improve the standards of care offered to our patients by participating in well designed clinical trials which can offer access to innovative treatments.
