FREE DENTAL CARE FOR TEENS
Going to the dentist
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
On arrival:
When you get to the dental centre let the receptionist know, so they know you have arrived for your appointment.
While waiting to see the dentist:
When you are waiting, you will hear and smell different things.
The different sounds come from the different instruments that are used. Dental clinics have a particular smell to them – this comes from all the cleaning products they use. They have to use a lot to make sure things are super clean – this is a good thing!
Seeing the dentist:
When the dentist is ready he/she will call you in, and get you to sit in the
dental
chair.
The dentist will then look in your mouth to see
what condition your teeth
and gums are in. The dentist will probably also
take some x-rays.
These x-rays helps the dentist
detect any holes in your teeth that can’t
be seen by looking in your mouth.
If the dentist finds any holes, or other problems,
he/she may ask you to make another appointment, so
you can get the treatment needed.
If there are no problems, you do not have to come back until another 12 months,
when you will have your next free check up.
