Visitor Information

Enquiries by Relatives, Whanau, and Friends

Relatives, whanau and friends may telephone the hospital patient enquiries on 364 4699 at any time to ask about a patient's day to day condition.

If relatives are concerned about you and wish to have more information they may ask the nursing / midwifery staff to arrange an appointment with you and your doctor.

Visiting Hours (Including weekends and public holidays)

Visitors should always enter clinical areas via the reception desk located on the floor they are visiting.

Normal visiting hours for the hospital are from 10:00am-1:00pm and 3:00pm-8:00pm. Whilst there are 3 main exceptions to this rule (listed below) visitors are encouraged to keep to visiting hours whenever possible in the interests of the patient's well-being, and in consideration for other patients.

Exceptions
  • Partners of inpatients on the Maternity Ward (5th floor) can visit from 8:00am to 9:00pm.
  • Parents of infants in the care of the Neonatal Service (4th floor) can visit at any time of the day or night. However, family other than parents and siblings are encouraged to visit according to general visiting hours as stated above.
  • Relatives of seriously ill patients can visit at any time with the approval of the nurse / midwife in charge of the ward.
Please be conscious that too many visitors at one time can be tiring and upsetting both to the person you are visiting and other patients.
