Call your general practice if you need health advice during the holiday break

Canterbury health providers are reminding the public to telephone their general practice in the first instance (unless it is an emergency) if they need health advice during the Christmas and New Year period.

This advice applies to all Canterbury residents, regardless of where they live.

If a visit to a doctor is required, after hours medical services (such as Moorhouse Medical Centre, Riccarton Clinic and Pegasus Health’s 24Hour Surgery at Bealey Ave) will be open throughout the holiday period.

People are reminded to keep Christchurch Hospital’s Emergency Department for emergencies.
