Qualified as a Graduate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and MSc at Salford University (UK) in 1973 and came to New Zealand to take up employment with Canterbury Health Laboratories. Gained Certificate and Specialist Qualifications in Clinical Biochemistry whilst running the automated section of the laboratory. Has worked in all area of clinical biochemistry and developed many specialist assays. Current interests include trace metals, lipids, information technology and automation.
