Jeff graduated BSc (Hons) from the University of Canterbury in 1967. He spent 10 years working at Otago Medical School, obtaining a PhD in 1977. Jeff carried out post-doctoral research with Nobel Laureate Prof. Ed Krebs in Seattle, USA, before returning to New Zealand in 1980. He joined the Biochemistry Department at Christchurch Hospital in March 1985 and the Molecular Pathology Laboratory in 1993. Jeff's special interests include nucleic acid chemistry and diagnostics.
