Jill obtained both her BSc (Hons) in Genetics and MSc in Medical Genetics from the University of Glasgow. She also completed a two year course through the West of Scotland Cytogenetics Service to achieve a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Cytogenetics (UK NHS/ACC Training Scheme). Jill started as a scientist in the Canterbury Health Laboratories Cytogenetics department in 2001. She is a member of the Human Genetics Society of Austalasia (HGSA) including the Austalasian Society of Cytogeneticists. Jill obtained the MHGSA qualification in May 2005.
