Chris started training in Cytology in 1982 at Dunedin Public Hospital and completed his training in 1985. He worked as Staff Technologist at Dunedin Hospital until late 1986 when he went to Switzerland on the New Zealand - Switzerland Trainee Exchange Scheme. Chris worked for 18 months at Inselspital, University of Bern in Bern. Two and a half years were then spent in England at Derby Royal Infirmary, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Kings Mill Hospital. Chris returned to The Princess Margaret Hospital in Christchurch in 1990 as Charge Technologist of Cytology. In 1992, he moved to Christchurch Hospital to his current position.
