CHILD, ADOLESCENT AND FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE

Child and Family Unit

A specialist regional (South Island) treatment and assessment facility with 8 beds. Also incorporates a daypatient programme (Canterbury region only). Children and adolescents under 16 years of age who have severe psychiatric, emotional behavioural or developmental disorders are assessed and / or treated. There is also possible provision for family members to live-in on the unit, in order to enable them to be part of their child's treatment programme.
